Science
In Science, students are able to gain an understanding of the relationships between Science and Technology and their impacts on society. The importance of scientific awareness in our everyday lives is increasing all the time and our informed decisions will have an impact on future generations. Science is mandatory for all students from Year 7 to Year 10.
At James Ruse Agricultural High School, students learn science by asking questions and finding answers about the world around them. They use skills called "working scientifically" to help them understand science ideas better.
For Years 7 to 10, the science classes focus on learning through exploring and discovering things themselves. Students work collaboratively on hands-on experiments, learn how to gather and analyse data, and present their scientific findings. Additionally, in both Year 8 and Year 9, students complete an individual research project to further develop their skills.
In Years 11 and 12, the Science courses offered at JRAHS include:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Science Extension (Year 12 only)
