The James Ruse Student Representative Council is composed of students from across the grades who gather to become one student body that embodies the voices of the school.

Together, the SRC strives to implement changes fitting the needs of the students and the school, improve the existing good in the school and promote the school values (ASPIRE).

Representatives are elected per class at the beginning of the year. The SRC is then divided into smaller groups named ‘streams’ - Environment, Marketing and Welfare - where roles for specific events and general responsibilities are delegated according to the field.

With the guidance of the coordinating teacher, the body organises events such as the annual SRC Week and Project Positive to enhance the Ruse experience.

It aims to focus more on addressing problems faced by individual students within the school through the introduction of the ‘Suggestion Box’ that improves the communication between students and the school.
