Amnesty

Amnesty is a social justice club that focuses on a range of human rights and aims to increase awareness of the issues relevant to society today.

We strive towards sharing our knowledge with the rest of the school and allow students to become aware of the issues in society such as gender inequality, poverty and racism. The fight for human rights is important in our world today and it is important for us to continue to stand together and work towards making a change!

Every term we aim to hold an event that aims to spread awareness and provide insight into issues relevant to current society.

Events that Amnesty has held in the past include

  • Unzip the Lip - an event that took a stand against freedom of speech violations
  • Map the Gap - an event that aimed to educate students on the inequality gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians
  • Multicultural day - an event that celebrates the diverse cultures in our community.

We hope you will come down and join us.
