Knitwits is a club which allows students to use their knitting skills to make a positive contribution to the wider community.
Students in Knitwits
- knit simple squares which are sewn together into blankets for those in need.
- are provided with wool and knitting needles and those who are unfamiliar to knitting are taught under the supervision of the Teacher Librarian.
- can count this activity towards the school service section of the James Ruse Award Scheme.
- Can use this activity when completing an award in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Scheme, for the Service and Skill sections. To be considered for either of these awards, students must participate in at least 32 sessions.
