The James Ruse Student Representative Council, SRC, is composed of students from across the grades who gather to become one student body to embody the voices of the school and organise events.

Together, the SRC strives to:

  • implement changes fitting the needs of the students and the school,
  • improve the existing good in the school and
  • promote the school values (ASPIRE).

Representatives are elected per class at the beginning of the year and then divided into smaller groups named ‘streams’ - Environment, Marketing and Welfare - where roles for specific events and general responsibilities are delegated according to the field.

SRC events include the annual SRC Week and Project Positive which aim to enhance the Ruse experience.

The introduction of the ‘Suggestion Box’ has improved communication between students and the school to directly address issues that are important to (individual) students.
