Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen at Ruse
The James Ruse Canteen contributes to the life of the school by offering a menu which provides a large and varied range of food and drink options which comply with the requirements of the NSW Government’s Healthy Canteen guidelines.
These obligations include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy one for students (visit Healthy school canteens to learn more).
The Canteen at Ruse is open every school day and run by the JRAHS P&C from January 2023.
An array of salads, wraps, sandwiches, fruit salads and hot meals are available each day. As well, the Ruse canteen provides refreshing cold drinks including low fat flavoured milks, no sugar soft drinks, flavoured mineral waters and juice. Vegetarian food options are also available.
Daily lunch specials can be pre-ordered on the QKR mobile phone app before 8:00am, or over the counter before school.
Canteen hours: 8:00am – 2:05pm Monday - Friday
Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
is suitable for all body shapes.

JRAHS operates a School Uniform Shop, upstairs in Barrengarry House. Our Uniform Shop is open every Tuesday and Wednesday in school terms between 8am and 2pm.
Hiring our facilities
You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.
