The year began with a simple idea to try and turn something that can pollute the earth to a beautiful Mural for the whole school.
Why bottle tops?
Bottle tops are sliced off during recycling because the colour can contaminate the clear or white plastic that is wanted for.
So, the tops are discarded and not recycled. Students collected the coloured tops of varying sizes, washed them ready for creating the Mural.
A design was selected - a cow, which connected with the other cow sculptures scattered across our school and supported the strong Agricultural educational tradition of James Ruse. Furthermore, the mural was created to commemorate the 60th Ruse anniversary.
The Mural from small beginnings took shape and form each week until its completion and now, takes pride of place in the CAPA space...
